Electrification of the third railroad between Kenitra and Mohammedia (Morocco)

The Railroad Administration of Morocco, Office National des Chemins de Fer (ONCF), has awarded Ayesa with a contract to carry out the studies for the electrification of the upcoming third railroad between Kenitra and Mohammedia for a 160 km/h speed rail system. These studies also include the renovation of the catenary of the Ain Sebaa- Rabat Ville corridor (stations and routes) for a 220 km/h speed rail system.

This is a very important project that will improve and modernize the railroad infrastructure of this country. On one side, we expect to boost the merchandise traffic implementing a new parallel electrified road to the existing double way. On the other side, with these roads and the facilities renewed, the project is intended to be implemented for passengers only. This is the reason why the ONCF is providing highly beneficial electrification facilities that will allow for traffic of trains at 220 km/h speeds.
